Donor Milk is a Bridge to Breastfeeding

Mounting evidence is showing how donor milk helps mothers breastfeed when their babies are premature, their milk is delayed, or they otherwise have difficulty initiating breastfeeding. Mother of twins, Anna Treloar, shared with Fox61 her experience of participating in our new program at Middlesex Hospital in Connecticut.

“It felt a little weird at the beginning…but…I would get a blood transfusion, so what’s the difference,” she said about the donor milk, which she only used for two days. The Hartford Courant interviewed her, as well.
