Be a Milk Bank Ambassador
We need your help. Nonprofit milk banks succeed because of people like you. When you donate milk or make financial contributions, you help reach babies who need donor milk. When you spread the word about our work at Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast, more parents who might be able to donate milk, potential partners, and financial donors learn about what we do and why it’s important.
How YOU can help
1) Click here and share a post on social media encouraging milk donation. If you are part of any parenting groups or listservs, please be sure to share it on those specifically.
2) Tell your OB and pediatrician about Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast. We have information cards about milk donation we would be happy to send any practice interested in distributing them. Send us the name and contact information of your practice or they can reach out themselves to Outreach@milkbankne.org.
3) Reach out to someone you know who teaches prenatal or postpartum classes or parenting groups. Ask if they would include information about milk donation in their class presentations. Tell them that Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast would be happy to share information and visuals that they can use or even to join in, if possible, to raise awareness about donor milk. Let us know who to contact to follow up here.
4) Make a financial contribution. As a nonprofit, we rely on the generosity of people like you who believe in our mission – to save lives and protect the health the fragile newborns. In 2021 we provided over 1.5 million meals to premature babies. Demand is rising, and we need to provide even more meals in 2022 and the years ahead. 5) Tell your story. One of the best ways to teach people about donor milk is through personal stories. Did you donate milk? Did your baby receive donor milk? Are you a medical professional who relies on donor milk in your practice? Tell us your story (and share some pictures) so we can help others understand the importance of donor milk. We will provide you with a few easy questions to answer. Reach out to us at volunteer@milkbankne.org
