An Insider Peek: Milky HQ’s Recent Open House

Open House

Last week we opened our doors for the very first Open House since Milky HQ’s refresh! It was an evening of connection, conversation, and community — and we’re so thankful for the nearly 100 friends (new and old) who joined us . . .

Guests got a behind-the-scenes look at our “glow-up.” Informational stations were set up throughout the space to demonstrate the milk pasteurization process, explain the importance of our safety and screening procedures, and—of course—highlight how investments in equipment and education have helped us grow (exponentially!) over the past several years. The need for donor milk keeps rising and we’re working hard to keep up!

Meanwhile, our packed house enjoyed light refreshments and plenty of mingling with our team, board members, and supporters — including the Covey family, founders of the Aria Covey Foundation as well as our friends from Village Bank. We also had some fun with giveaways featuring Tatte, Polkadog, and every leaf peeper’s favorite — the Bedford Village Inn. One lucky guest even snagged seats for an upcoming Red Sox game. Huge thanks to our board of directors and local business friends for helping make the evening so memorable.

A highlight of the evening was hearing from longtime supporter and incoming board chair Dr. Robert Insoft. He spoke about his involvement with the milk bank and the future he not only envisions—but is actively supporting alongside his wife, Andrea—through the Insoft Fund.

Open House, open hearts . . .

It was incredibly meaningful to share the stories and experiences that bring us together in support of a shared mission: ensuring fragile babies receive the donor milk they need to survive and thrive.

With our 20th anniversary on the horizon, we’re feeling grateful and deeply energized by the interest and support shown by everyone who attended that evening. Events like this remind us that we’re not doing this work alone. We’re surrounded by a growing community that understands the power of donor milk.

We’re also thrilled to share some exciting news. Thanks to a generous gift from an anonymous funder, we’ll soon be introducing a large-volume automated pasteurization machine to our facility. This will increase our efficiency and help us meet the growing demand for safe, pasteurized donor milk across the region. We’re excited about the improvements to come — and incredibly grateful for this investment in our mission, our future, and the families we serve.

You can see more from the event below. And if you weren’t able to join us this time, we truly hope to see you at a future gathering.

Thank you for supporting tiny lives in big ways.

Let’s get milky . . .

We’re proud to be building a stronger, more connected milk bank — the kind our community and its littlest members deserve. Want to get involved? There are so many ways to make a difference. You can spread the word about donor milk, become a donor yourself, or support our work with a gift.
