Insoft Challenge

Growing The Future – The Robert & Andrea Insoft Challenge . . .

Just as donor milk helps babies grow and thrive, The Robert & Andrea Insoft Challenge aims to provide a significant portion of the capital needed to enable Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast to expand, innovate, and optimize their facilities, equipment, and programs – all in service of medically fragile infants and their families.

Here at Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast, we envision a world where every baby has access to the safe, pasteurized donor human milk they need to grow and thrive. Paramount to making this happen? An ambitious fundraising goal of $300,000 which will aid in the strategic expansion of both our milk bank and our impact.

That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that Rob and Andie Insoft have generously offered a challenge – for every dollar donated, they will make a 1:1 matching gift up to a total of $150,000. This opportunity is a gift for Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast and the thousands of precious lives counting on us, making your support more crucial than ever.

Rob and Andie, your challenge is gratefully accepted. Let the work begin . . .

“As a pediatrician and neonatologist, my life’s work has been devoted to protecting and improving the lives of fragile newborns. At times providing the only safe source of nutrition for a baby who desperately needs to grow, donor milk is a vital medical resource. Ensuring that safe, lifesaving donor milk from a nonprofit milk bank like Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast is readily available is a commitment my wife Andrea and I remain dedicated to. Enabling more babies to survive and thrive, the capital raised through this fund is essential. ~ Robert Insoft, M.D., FAAP, Vice Chair and Past Medical Director, Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast

A Critical Juncture . . .

Working with over 100 hospitals (primarily NICUs) and thousands of families across the region, Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast provides more than 1.5 million feedings for medically fragile infants every year.

We have reached a critical juncture for the milk bank. Demand for donor milk is at its highest level and our facility and operational capacity currently limits our ability to grow and meet this demand. This region’s families deserve a first-class milk bank. We require a milk bank that is sustainable and can continually improve. A milk bank that will help ensure the health of our most vulnerable infants now and in the future.

Robert Insoft, MD and Andrea Werner Insoft, LISCW understand the crucial role that donor milk plays for the health and well-being of both newborns in need and their families. They are offering this challenge to ignite a community of like-minded supporters. A community that firmly believes every baby deserves the chance to live their future.

As a perinatal social worker, I am grateful for the emotional support donor milk provides. Parents and caregivers find so much comfort and hope when a baby receives donor milk. And when a donor supports another family’s baby with a milk donation, they often experience similar benefits. This is particularly true for those who have experienced a traumatic birth and/or the loss of a beloved pregnancy or infant. Both Rob and I appreciate the unique yet vital role Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast plays in the wellbeing of all families.Andrea Werner Insoft, LICSW

Thank you . . .

As demand for safe donor milk increases, and milk bank and newborn care science continually evolve, so too must Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast grow and innovate.
