Maine Medical Now Using Donor Milk in Postpartum Unit

Maine Medical Center is one of many hospitals using donor milk in the NICU as well as in the postpartum unit as a supplement to breastfeeding. In the article “MMC Increases Availability of Donated Breastmilk,” Cynthia Knox discusses her journey with baby Isla, and how donor milk at the Mother Baby Care Unit at Maine Medical Center helped Isla recover from excessive weight loss, eventually allowing this mom to exclusively breastfeed her baby.
