We’re thrilled to share some exciting news: Dr. Robert Insoft, M.D., FAAP, has been named the new Chair of our Board of Directors, a role that builds on years of deep connection to our mission.
A celebrated neonatologist, pediatrician, and healthcare leader, Rob has dedicated his career to caring for medically fragile infants. His work consistently centers on safety, quality, and the systems of care that help babies grow and thrive.
A trusted leader, longtime partner, and now Board Chair
Rob has been part of the Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast family for many years. For more than a decade, he served as our Medical Director, helping guide the clinical standards and oversight that ensure every drop of donor milk we distribute meets the highest levels of safety and excellence.
This work is complex and essential. It requires clinical expertise, careful judgment, and constant attention to evolving best practices. Rob brings all of this to the table. In short, he understands both the promise and the responsibility of nonprofit milk banking.
Investing in the Future of Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast . . .
Rob’s commitment to our mission goes beyond leadership. Together with his wife, Andrea Werner Insoft, LICSW, he established the Robert & Andrea Insoft Fund, an investment in the long-term strength of our milk bank.
This fund supports the expansion and optimization of our facilities, equipment, and programs. Its purpose is clear: to ensure our milk bank remains a trusted resource for years to come. It is set up as a challenge gift, thus motivating others to join in this important work.

Looking Ahead . . .
Today, we work with more than 100 hospitals and provide over 1.5 million feedings of donor milk each year. Demand continues to grow, and so must we.
As Board Chair, Rob will help guide our organization through this critical period of growth. His leadership will strengthen our mission, expand our impact, and help ensure we’re here for the babies, families, and clinicians who rely on us every day.
