Together, We’re Doing Big Things for Little Ones

we're doing big things for little ones - will you help?

We’re working tirelessly to ensure that whenever a doctor says, “This baby needs donor milk,” our answer is always, “Yes. We have it.” With your support, we can make that a reality. Can we count on you to give the gift of tomorrow to little ones like MJ?

When MJ was born at 27 weeks, he weighed just 1 pound, 6 ounces— about the same as a cantaloupe. With skin so delicate it was almost translucent, and lungs still developing, every breath he took was a miracle.

For 24 hours, MJ’s mother, Ashley, couldn’t see the son she had fought so hard to bring into the world. But she remembers hearing him cry. “That felt like a good sign,” she recalls. And it was. Defying the odds, MJ persevered through 127 days in the NICU.

For babies as vulnerable as MJ, human milk is more than nutrition — it’s a vital medical resource. More than 90% of U.S. NICUs rely on donor milk when a mother’s own milk isn’t available. Why? Because it’s the only proven alternative to protect against life-threatening complications like necrotizing enterocolitis.

While MJ’s mom, Ashley, recovered from a difficult birth and severe preeclampsia, he received donor milk from Mothers’ Milk Bank Northeast. This gift — which helped him survive — was made possible by people who believe every baby matters. People like you. And people like Kaleigh.

Powered by generosity. Powered by you . . .

When Kaleigh’s son, Declan, was born weighing just over 3 pounds, he too required NICU care. Exhausted but determined, Kaleigh immediately began pumping around the clock to give him the best start possible. When she had more milk than Declan needed, she donated it to our milk bank. “This is what made me feel empowered again after our rocky start,” she explains. But Kaleigh didn’t stop there—she recently helped raise over $21,000 to support other families.

Kaleigh and Ashley have never met. But together, they represent the beautiful, cyclical nature of our mission — a mission powered by your generosity.

Donor milk doesn’t simply move from one freezer to another. It undergoes rigorous screening, testing, pasteurization, and quality control to ensure it’s safe for the most medically fragile babies. Babies who can’t afford anything less. Babies like MJ.

So far this year, we’re on track to distribute nearly 200,000 bottles of safe, reliable donor milk to more than one hundred hospitals and countless families caring for their babies at home.

But none of this is possible without you . . .

We must raise $100,000 to meet the growing demand for donor milk in 2026. Will you help make tomorrow possible for babies in need?
